Annette Dufour, DDS

Dr. Annette Dufour was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She moved to Escanaba with her family at the age of five. Dr. Dufour graduated from Escanaba High School in 1984 and earned her associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from Ferris State College in 1987.


In 1992, she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She was awarded the Senior Student Award by the Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Operative Dentistry Award, as well as membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Fraternity upon graduation.


After dental school, Dr. Dufour attended a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program at the University of Michigan's Operative Department.

Krista Gorenchan, DDS

Dr. Krista Gorenchan, formerly Krista Ison, moved with her family to Escanaba as a child. She and her husband, Tim, both graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 1996. After high school, Krista attended Northern Michigan University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She was then accepted to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in May 2004.

Shortly after getting married in July 2004, she began her dental career in the Detroit area. In 2005, an opportunity in the public health field allowed Dr. Gorenchan and her husband to move back to the Upper Peninsula to be closer to their families.


In 2006, Dr. Gary Bradley and Dr. Annette Dufour hired Dr. Gorenchan at Great Northern Dental Associates, where she is now a partner in the practice.

Office Manager

Wendy is our Office Manager. She was previously a dental assistant in our office. She received her training in Vancouver, Washington. Wendy relocated to Rapid River with her husband, Ron, to raise their three wonderful children.

Haley is one of our registered dental hygienists. She graduated from Ferris State University in May 2019. Her main goal is to provide the best care possible. Haley currently resides in Escanaba with her husband, daughter, and three dogs.

Erin is one of our Dental Assistants. She attended and graduated from Escanaba High School and Bay College. She is married and has three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, being busy in her flower gardens in the summer, and bowling and going for walks.

She enjoys spending time with her animals and family. In her free time, she can be found fishing, kayaking, or practicing her love for photography.


Miranda was born and raised in Gladstone, MI, but her love for adventure and travel has taken her to many places in recent years.

Cortney lives in Escanaba with her husband, three kids, and two dogs. She has been working in the dental field since 2013. She enjoys being outside, walking, hiking, and simply enjoying nature.

Ashley is a dental hygienist who graduated from NWTC in 2017. She is a healthcare professional who values building lasting relationships with patients. Through a combination of expertise, empathy, and a passion for promoting oral health. Outside the office she enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, family and friends. Ashley is very involved with her church and loves helping the community.

Dental Assistant

Cheyenne moved back to the UP in 2022. Coming from the busy life of Nashville TN, she wanted her boys to have the wild and free lifestyle that she and her husband grew up with. Cheyenne has been a Registered Dental Assistant since 2013. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Kayaking, going to the beach and running in races are some of her favorite things to do.

Born and raised in Munising, MI, Shannon graduated from Munising High School and attended NMU for Criminal Justice before transitioning into management. She spent much of her career as an Assistant Manager for Holiday Station stores and is now enjoying learning the dental field. Shannon married her best friend in 2015, and together they have three grown children. In her free time, she enjoys camping with her husband and their two weiner dogs, Abbie and Alex, as well as kayaking, fishing, and shopping. She currently resides in Trenary.

With over 20 years of experience in dental hygiene, Angela is excited to join the team at Great Northern Dental. Originally from Iowa, she has made the Upper Peninsula her home alongside her family, which includes two grown children and three bonus kids. Outside of the office, Angela enjoys traveling, reading, golfing, and home projects—all under the supervision of her three dogs, Monty, Jade, and Ziva, and her two cats, Cupcake and Bocefus. Angela’s favorite part of dentistry is building meaningful connections with her patients to ensure they feel informed and comfortable.
